Emotional Regulation

Emotional Regulation can be particularly difficult for Autistic individuals and those with ADHD. This collection of videos will take you through from understanding why it might be more difficult, to building strategies that can help you manage those difficult emotions.

Why emotions can be difficult

Emotions can feel difficult to manage at times, but they exist for a reason. This video takes at look at why we experience difficult emotions.

Recognising emotions

Before we can learn to manage our emotions, we need to be able to name them and recognise them through what we feel in our bodies. This video looks at how to increase emotional literacy and improve ability to identify emotions.

Developing calming strategies

Once we have identified our emotions, it's important to learn how to practice acceptance, so that we don't waste all our energy on fighting them and can instead direct our energy to what matters to us. This video also looks at how we can use our senses to regulate our emotions.
