Diagnostic Assessments
I have some limited capacity to offer diagnostic assessments for either Autism, ADHD or both. Where a multidisciplinary approach is necessary these assessments will be conducted by myself and an Occupational Therapist.
These assessments would involve the following….
- Forms to be completed by the family and by education if for a child
- Initial interview to determine the suitability of further assessment and gather background information
- Autism Assessments: Autism Diagnostic Interview (ADI-R) and ADOS observational assessment
- ADHD Assessments - ACE diagnostic Interview
- Follow up appointment to feedback the outcome and provide diagnostic report
There is no reason why your child’s school should not accept a private diagnosis, however it is recommended that you check with them prior to proceeding to ensure that it will be recognised. It is important that your child’s school is supportive of the assessment and able to provide evidence of their presentation in school.
Prices
Initial interview. £150
Child Autism Diagnostic Assessment. £1750
Adult Autism Diagnostic Assessment. £1450
Child ADHD Assessment: £1300
Adult ADHD Assessment: £1000
Combined Autism & ADHD Assessment £2250
Payment of £150 for the Initial interview must be made to secure the appointment. This is then deductible from the remainder of the cost should the assessment proceed. The remainder owed must be made prior to any further assessment being carried out.

Please note that as a Clinical Psychologist I am unable to prescribe medication should an ADHD diagnosis be given. However, in the case of children I would be able to recommend a private provider based in Cardiff who would be able to do this.
Initial interviews and ADI-R’s can be conducted online, but ADOS and ACE assessments would be face to face and conducted in my private therapy rooms in Caerphilly.
